The Ministry of Agriculture in Gaza has irresponsibly disposed of spoiled fish in this manner! Did four official institutions (as stated in the ministry’s report) plan, approve, and supervise the implementation of this reckless disposal method? Burning fish in the street among the public, using plastic waste, nylon, and garbage for the burning process—how do we explain this to the public and residents when they burn garbage in the streets, exposing people to all kinds of toxins and airborne pollutants, especially children and the sick?

Does this practice reflect the awareness of employees about appropriate scientific and health disposal methods? Is this how waste is officially disposed of by a government institution like the Ministry of Agriculture? Did anyone consider the pollution and urban blight caused by this method? Where are the environmental and health considerations for such a practice? Where is the organic fertilizer industry in Gaza regarding this behavior, especially when we are in dire need of fertilizers to combat desertification in Gaza?

Words fail to express my concerns… Thanks to all the plans, policies, programs, experts, specialists, laws, standards, officials, and decision-makers in Gaza’s Ministry of Agriculture… Moving forward…
