PEF in partnership with Oxfam worked to improve the life of vulnerable farmers in Khan Younis Governorate especially in Al Fukhary area who completely depend on purchasing water from private wells in Rafah with focusing on protecting the natural resources in KhanYunis by the construction of recovered treated wastewater irrigation scheme.
Within the Project: The consultancy team implemented the following responsibilities to achieve the goals of the project:
-Reviewing health, safety and quality standard guidelines and protocols for RTWW developed during the ongoing EU WES project (Enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities through efficient water solutions and addressing climate change in the Eastern area of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip).
-Reviewing health and safety Palestinian and international standards related to handling / using of TWW directly and indirectly for irrigation purposes.

The contingency plans were enhanced the emergency preparedness capacity for the targeted CBOs which were:

The plans implemented in order to ensure their timely and effective response to the humanitarian needs of the affected communities during and following any natural or man-made hazards.
