No matter how great your achievement is, you’ll never see it reflected in the eyes of the person who envies you, nor will the person who resents you ever mention it. The one who’s bitter and crushed by your success, annoyed by your excellence — from them, you won’t hear a single word of praise or compliment.

Never imagine for a second that you’ll find them impressed, engaged, excited, or happy when you show them your achievement or explain the progress you’ve made in your life. They will never be comfortable hearing you describe the beauty, grandeur, or brilliance of your success.

On the contrary, my good and innocent friend, you’ll find them responding to your achievement with coldness, silence, and complete indifference. They will master the art of downplaying your work, simplifying your accomplishment, and hiding any signs of admiration that might show on their face or reveal their amazement.

You’ll find them working slyly to change the subject, steer the conversation away, or avoid discussing it. Sometimes, they might dig into microscopic details to spoil the moment, distort the achievement, or reduce the sweetness of your success.

In general, my dear, they will pass over your brilliance as if you did nothing. They will act calm, wise, composed, and disciplined in the most ugly way — even though you might see them jump, dance, and get excited over the most trivial nonsense in the world. You’ll find them very spontaneous, social, and friendly with everyone else — just not with you.

These people? Never bother marketing your success to them. Don’t exhaust yourself trying to win their admiration or gain their approval. You’re like someone trying to squeeze water out of a rock. The jealousy and hatred running through their hearts will never allow them to be fair to you.

Also, a very important thing: Never underestimate your achievement. Don’t belittle your success just because they didn’t give you the credit you deserve, or because they made you feel small. Your achievement is huge, my friend — your success is a gift to them as well, even if they don’t see it.

Forget about them, save your energy, keep your battery charged. Cut them off from your life and stick close to those who admire you, who give you energy and strength to keep climbing higher. Those who appreciate you and respect your abilities and your character — get closer to them.

You’ll stay at peace with yourself, respect yourself, keep excelling from one success to the next, and keep moving forward without stopping. And God is with you, my friend.

To all of you, I send my love, respect, and appreciation.
